Established in 1969, CHC Helicopters (Australia) of Adelaide is the major commercial helicopter operator in Australia. Formerly 'The Lloyd Helicopter Group', CHC Helicopters (Australia) is a wholly owned subsidiary of CHC Helicopter Corporation. The company's operations include on and offshore oil and gas support, emergency medical services, search and rescue and police helicopters. CHC Helicopters (Australia) operates 24 twin engine helicopters and employs a permanent workforce of about 240. In 1980, the company created its first dedicated air ambulance service and is today Australia's leading operator in this field, operating air ambulance services in the states of Queensland, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Western Australia and Victoria. CHC Helicopters (Australia) also maintains a search and rescue service for the Royal Australian Air Force, a service that utilises 6 advanced auto hover aircraft.
Offshore
Onshore To carry out onshore operations, CHC Helicopters (Australia) utilises a mixed fleet of SA 365C and 365N3, Sikorsky S76, Bell 212, 412 and 412EP helicopters.
